For the past few years, we have been visiting our cousins in Utah each fall. Our visit always includes a trip into southern Utah, where the colors and shapes of the landscape are a contrast to the Pacific Northwest. I have to say I love these red and orange stones that are so fluid, with the beautiful shadows sliding over them. These images have yet to leak into my work, but I imagine they will sometime. This hike was at Natural Bridges National Monument in the SE corner of Utah. We hiked under three huge stone bridges, glimpsed some petroglephs, and clambered up and down steep rock faces.
