Just a few weeks ago I stood in a newly mown field with these giant and majestic stones. They are part of the West Kennet Avenue, a double row of stones leading south from Avebury Circle. The front stone symbolizes the female element, partnered with the male element. This in process painting uses a new technique that I am thrilled about: layers of distemper or rabbits hide glue under the wax. I love the subtle colors and marks that sit behind the watercolor.
